Hike to Mount San Jacinto (Nov 2007) : The most popular route to San Jacinto Peak involves taking the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway from Valley Station (2,643 ft) in Palm Springs up to Mountain Station (8,516 ft). From there, it's a nice hike to 10,834ft. The views from the top are great (Pacific Ocean if good visibility, desert, Salton Sea...)

Hikes in Anza-Borrego State Park (03/2007) : In March 2007, we discovered some beautiful hikes in Anza-Borrego State Park (the largest park in CA). Camping and mountain biking around Blair Valley was great. The hike from Mountain Palm Springs campground (where one sees several palm groves) was our favorite.
