Pedal Power La Cumbre (Fall 2009) : Bici Centro offered another successful Pedal Power program at La Cumbre Junior High in Fall 2009. For 8 weeks, a group of girls worked hard to earn a refurbished bike, a helmet, lights and a lock. The following photos were taken during the last class.

Pedal Power (La Cumbre Junior High) Spring 2009 : For the first time, Bici Centro offered a biking after school program at La Cumbre Junior High. At the end of 8 weeks of instruction on bike maintenance and safe riding around Santa Barbara, a group of girls earned a free bicycle. What a great and fun program!!! www.bicicentro.org

Grand Opening Bici Centro (April 5, 2008) : Bici Centro's Community Bike Shop and Education Center had a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, April 5th 2008 at Casa de la Raza (601 E. Montecito St.) With 1,200 sq. feet of shop and classroom space, Bici Centro can now host more regular open shop for the community, and better operate both the youth and adult education and earn-a-bike programs. www.bicicentro.org

Bike Bike! conference in San Francisco (09/2008) : In September 2008, 5 volunteers from Bici Centro, Santa Barbara attended Bike! Bike! in San Francisco. What a great experience! Bike Kitchen in San Francisco (09/2008) : During Bike! Bike! in September 2008, we visited the Bike Kitchen in San Francisco. It charges membership dues: either $5 a day, or $40 a year. Purchasing a membership gives access to all the tools and parts in the inventory. If you're short on cash, you can earn a membership or parts by volunteering in the shop for a certain number of hours. www.bikekitchen.org
